Intern in Dublin

About the Program

ILA’s internship program is designed for students who want to prepare themselves for the rapidly evolving global job market while progressing in their academic studies. It’s a unique opportunity to gain international experience and develop the essential skills and competencies that employers look for in college graduates. During the program, you will intern at a local host organization while also attending a weekly seminar to complement your placement. Students have the option of doing a stand-alone internship or combining their placement with other academic coursework in Dublin. Our diverse range of courses will provide you with a platform to excel academically, and your internship will allow you to acquire experience from a global perspective and learn from professionals in an international context. This program is available in fall, spring and summer.

Internship Course
Along with the placement, students will complete an Internship Course that focuses on professional development and cultural competence. You will learn how to understand and articulate the value of your international experience, which will help you stand out to future employers and graduate schools. You will also engage in live discussions with fellow interns that will enhance your global perspective and intercultural awareness.

Additional Courses
In addition to the Internship Course and work placement, students can take one academic course (summer) or 2-4 courses (fall or spring) from the options listed here. Given the demands of your internship, the Internship Course, and your elective courses, we recommend enrolling in a total of 12 credits in fall or spring.
